A neck lift is a plastic surgery procedure, during which your plastic surgeon removes excess fat and/or skin from your neck and restores a more youthful appearance. Drs. Perrotta and Luppens are highly experienced plastic surgeons and have performed numerous successful neck surgeries on both men and women using advanced surgical techniques.

What to Expect at your Consultation
Drs. Perrotta and Luppens will devote as much time as necessary to discuss your individual goals and needs with you. After a focused physical examination, your surgeon will provide preliminary recommendations and explain what you can expect from surgery.
Once your surgeon determines his surgical plan, our aesthetic coordinator will produce a written quote, which lists all costs of your proposed surgery so that there are no surprises. At that time, an appointment is set for your pre-op visit.
Pre-Op Visit
Much is covered during your pre-op visit. First, one of our highly trained medical assistants will take pre-op photos. Next, your surgeon will explain the surgical technique to you and thoroughly inform you as to what you can expect, including any potential complications. Note that all procedures involve some risk, but major complications are rare. Dr. Perrotta or Dr. Luppens will then obtain a more complete medical history from you and perform a final pre-op physical examination, including a check of your vital functions to ensure that you are physically fit for surgery. All informed consents for surgery will be filled out at this appointment and final payments are due at this time. You will be notified 24 hours prior to your surgery with your arrival time.
The Neck Lift Surgery
There are multiple procedures available for neck enhancement. The one Dr. Perrotta or Dr. Luppens choose for you will depend on your particular concerns and anatomy. Most neck lifts include one or more of the following:

Removal of fat by liposuction or direct excision

Trimming and tightening of the platysma muscles bands

Tightening of the skin with the laser/liposuction machine

Surgical removal of excess skin
The type of surgery will also determine the type of anesthesia that is required. If all you need is liposuction, your surgeon can perform your surgery with a local anesthetic alone, and the procedure only takes 45 minutes! If additional work is necessary, you will probably require IV sedation.
Dr. Perrotta and Dr. Luppens always place your incisions at locations that are the most inconspicuous possible. After surgery is completed, our staff will apply a bulky dressing or an elastic neck band. If you need a full neck lift, you might need a drain or two, and you will be given full after-care instructions.
Post-Op
You should be able to shower 1-2 days following surgery, and you will probably be asked to wear the neck band for 1-2 weeks. Any bruising and swelling should disappear within three weeks of surgery. After your procedure, you will follow up with us several times so that we can monitor your healing.
