Brow Lift in Millsboro, DE
Brow Lift Surgery
A brow lift, also known as an eyebrow lift, is a surgical procedure that elevates the brows and smooths the upper face to create a more youthful and refreshed appearance. When the forehead and brows droop over time, it produces a tired or angry look. At Peninsula Plastic Surgery in Millsboro, DE, Dr. Perrotta, Dr. Luppens, and Dr. Kerestes have performed countless brow lift surgeries for both men and women, using advanced surgical techniques to provide natural-looking results with minimal discomfort and scarring.
While non-surgical options like brow lift Botox® offer temporary lifting effects, a surgical brow lift procedure provides a longer-lasting solution to correct drooping brows, reduce forehead wrinkles, and enhance overall facial balance. Whether your goals are cosmetic or functional, we will work with you to achieve your desired outcome.
Goals Of A Brow Lift
- Reposition sagging brows to a more youthful location
- Smooth out forehead wrinkles and lines
- Enhance eye area visibility and facial expression
- Improve overall facial symmetry and harmony
- Increase self-confidence and satisfaction with appearance
Candidates For A Brow Lift
You may be a good candidate for brow lift surgery if:
- You have droopy or sagging eyebrows that give you a fatigued or aged appearance
- You experience deep forehead wrinkles or creases
- You have eyebrow ptosis (brows that hang lower than desired)
- You want more dramatic and longer-lasting results than those achieved with brow lift Botox®
- You are in good general health with realistic expectations
What to Expect at your Consultation
During your private consultation, Dr. Perrotta, Dr. Luppens, or Dr. Kerestes will listen to your aesthetic concerns and evaluate your forehead and brow anatomy. Their goal is to explain what a brow lift is, discuss the different techniques that are available, and recommend a surgical plan that is customized to your needs and goals.
After a treatment plan has been finalized, our aesthetic coordinator will provide you with a written quote that outlines the full brow lift cost, including anesthesia and facility fees. At this time, your pre-op visit will also be scheduled.
Pre-Op Visit
At your pre-operative appointment, the following steps will be completed:
- An experienced medical assistant will take pre-surgery photographs for you
- Your surgeon will review the planned brow lift procedure and address any concerns
- The examination will include a review of medical history and a physical examination
- Consent forms will be signed, and all final payments will be processed
- You’ll receive instructions and your official surgery arrival time 24 hours prior
The Brow Lift Surgery
Your brow lift surgery will be performed under local anesthesia with IV sedation, although some patients may prefer general anesthesia. Dr. Perrotta, Dr. Luppens, and Dr. Kerestes carefully place incisions at, behind, or below the hairline, depending on your natural hairline and surgical goals.
There are various types of brow lifts, including endoscopic, temporal, and traditional coronal approaches. In all techniques, the surgeon will release the brow tissues from their underlying structures and reposition them upward. The brows are then secured with sutures to maintain their elevated position. Incisions are closed and covered with soft dressings to support healing and reduce swelling.
Post-Op Recovery
Recovery after a brow lift is relatively straightforward. Most patients return home the same day with their head gently wrapped in post-surgical dressings. In most cases, drains are not needed.
- Dressings are typically removed within a few days
- Sutures placed at or near the hairline are removed in 3–6 days
- Sutures or staples located behind the hairline are removed within 1–3 weeks
- Swelling and bruising generally resolve within 7–10 days
- Several post-op follow-ups will be scheduled to monitor healing and outcomes
