Peninsula Plastic Surgery BOTOX ® Injections
What is BOTOX Cosmetic?
Available at our cosmetic surgery practice in Salisbury, Seaford and Georgetown, BOTOX ® is an injectible liquid that temporarily removes crow's feet, frown lines, and other types of facial wrinkles. BOTOX ® injections are non-surgical and minimally invasive.
BOTOX ® Cosmetic is an FDA-approved solution that safely paralyzes specific muscles in the face that cause the wrinkles. A BOTOX ® injection usually lasts three to four months and injections can be repeated as necessary when facial wrinkles reappear.
The BOTOX Injection Procedure
The BOTOX ® injection procedure involves very low doses of BOTOX ® Cosmetic in specific areas of the face. Almost no redness or swelling occurs following a BOTOX ® injection. No anesthesia is required and the entire procedure takes no more than 10 minutes.
Recovery
After visiting one of our offices for a BOTOX ® cosmetic treatment, patients may immediately return to work and resume normal activities. The BOTOX ® injection will gradually take effect in three to five days. It is important that you keep your head elevated (e.g., do not lie down or bend over) for approximately two to three hours after a BOTOX ® Cosmetic injection.
