Arm lift

WHO COULD BENEFIT?

Individuals who have excess skin hanging from their arms, which might be due to weight loss, liposuction or maturity.

Individuals with fat deposits on the arms which make them appear tubuler

THE GOALS:

Thinner, more attractive arms with tighter skin.

Arms with more muscle definition.

THE PROCEDURE:

We perform this procedure on an outpatient basis, with general anesthesia.

If the problem consists of excess skin alone, we remove only skin.

In order to minimize exposure of the scars, we place incisions on the inside surfaces of the arms.

If there also is excess fat, we perform simultaneous liposuction on the arms.

Drains are not necessary.

POST-OP RECOVERY:

The patient goes home with a light dressings and an elastic garment over the arms.

Initial discomfort is controlled with oral medication.

Swelling and bruising subsides over 2-3 weeks.

External sutures (if any) are removed in 3-5 days. Internal sutures dissolve.

Most patients return to work or play within two weeks.

OTHER OPTIONS:

Patients who desire to thin their entire bodies should undergo their weight loss and exercise programs prior to any surgery.

INSURANCE?

This procedure is not covered by insurance if being done for cosmetic reasons..

NOTE

The suitability of brachioplasty for an individual is determined during the office consultation. All procedures have risks. Minor complications do occur occasionally. Major complications are rare.
