Breast Surgery

Salisbury, Maryland Breast Enhancement and Reconstruction

Both Doctor Perrotta and Doctor Pellegrino are experienced with all forms of breast enhancement surgery:

Breast Enlargement

Doctors Perrotta and Pellegrino offer implants that are round or tear-drop shaped, saline or silicone gel.  We perform the majority of our breast enlargement procedures in our certified, in-office operating room suite.

Breast Lift

For women who feel their breasts are droopy, mastopexy (breast lift) is the procedure of choice. These women and satisfied with the volume of their breasts.  Peninsula Plastic Surgery is now offering the Vertical Breast Lift, a cutting-edge technique that provides more breast projection and, because it incorporates the "French Cut," less scarring than the traditional technique.

Breast Reduction

Women with excessively large breasts or "macromastia" suffer from rashes, breast pain, back pain and shoulder notching. The surgeons at Peninsula Plastic Surgery offer both the conventional, time-tested inferior pedicle technique and the state-of-the-art vertical breast reduction, the latter of which incorporates the "French Cut," which results in less scarring and, in most cases, more projection.

Breast Reconstruction

Breast reconstruction is for a young woman with a congenital breast deformity, a woman who has lost part or all of a breast to cancer, or a women who has a poor result following breast enhancement surgery.

An occasional woman with a high risk of breast cancer will choose to undergo mastectomies and breast reconstruction before she even develops breast cancer.  This is a prudent approach particularly for women carrying the altered BRCA-1 or BRCA-2 gene.

Depending on the specific, individual needs of the patient, Doctor Pellegrino or Doctor Perrotta will recommend one of the following procedures to create a breast that appears and feels as natural as possible:  Saline implant reconstruction, Silicone gel implant reconstruction, Latissimus Dorsi reconstruction with an implant, TRAM flap reconstruction or DIEP flap reconstruction.   DIEP flap reconstruction is performed in the university setting, and we would be happy to make the referral for anyone interested in it.

Male Breast Reduction

Many men, due to genetic predisposition, transient hormonal variation, weight gain, or the hormonal changes associated with aging, develop breasts that are excessively large (gynecomastia).  These men avoid exposing their chest in public.  Fortunately, there are multiple solutions to gynecomastia, including liposuction, male breast reduction and, the newest approaches: laser liposuction and power assisted liposuction.  Since privacy is very important to our male patients, we make every effort to schedule their surgery in our own O.R., located inside the walls of our Salisbury office complex.
