Salisbury, Maryland Breast Enhancement and Reconstruction
Doctors Perrotta and Pellegrino understand how important a woman's breasts are to her personal sense of identity. When she has a desire or need for breast surgery, they do whatever it takes to help her achieve her goals. Both doctors have extensive experience in breast enhancement and reconstructive surgery, and both believe their success is measured in the satisfaction of their patients.
Breast Enhancement
If a woman desires larger breasts, these talented surgeons can provide her with beautiful results. Doctors Perrotta and Pellegrino utilize implants that are round or tear-drop shaped. If she feels her breasts are droopy, mastopexy (breast lift) is the procedure of choice. Some patients benefit from both. Peninsula Plastic Surgery is now offering the Vertical Breast Lift, a cutting-edge technique that provides more breast projection and, because it incorporates the "French Cut," less scarring than the traditional technique.

Breast Reduction
Women with excessively large breasts or "macromastia" suffer from rashes, breast pain, back pain and shoulder notching. The surgeons at Peninsula Plastic Surgery offer both the conventional, time-tested inferior pedicle technique and the state-of-the-art vertical breast reduction, the latter of which incorporates the "French Cut," which results in less scarring and, in most cases, more projection.

Breast Reconstruction
Breast reconstruction is indicated for a young woman with a congenital breast deformity, for a woman who has lost part or all of a breast due to surgery for the treatment breast cancer, or for a women who has a poor result following breast enhancement surgery.
An occasional woman with a high risk of breast carcinoma will choose to undergo mastectomies and breast reconstruction before she even develops breast cancer. This is a prudent approach particularly for women who carry the altered BRCA-1 or BRCA-2 gene.
Depending on the specific, individual needs of the patient, one of the surgeons of Peninsula Plastic Surgery will choose one of the following procedures to create a breast that appears and feels as natural as possible: Saline implant reconstruction, Silicone gel implant reconstruction, Lat Dorsi reconstruction with an implant, or TRAM flap reconstruction. For women who desire the forms of reconstruction only available in the university setting, Peninsula Plastic Surgery is happy to make the referral.

Male Breast Reduction
Many men, due to genetic predisposition, transient hormonal variation, weight gain, or the hormonal changes associated with aging develop breasts that are excessively large (gynecomastia). Affected men avoid exposing their chest at the beach or any public area. Fortunately, today there are multiple solutions to gynecomastia, including liposuciton, male breast reduction and laser liposuction, and the surgeons at Peninsula Plastic Surgery are very experienced with all of them. Since privacy is important to male patients in particular, the surgeons of Peninsula Plastic Surgery make every effort to schedule their male patients' cases in the certified operating room attached to the Salisbury office.
