Breast Reconstruction

Breast reconstruction is indicated for a young woman with a congenital breast deformity, for a woman who has lost part or all of a breast due to surgery for the treatment breast cancer, or for a women who has a poor result following breast enhancement surgery.

An occasional woman with a high risk of breast carcinoma will choose to undergo mastectomies and breast reconstruction before she even develops breast cancer. This is a prudent approach particularly for women who carry the altered BRCA-1 or BRCA-2 gene.

Depending on the specific, individual needs of the patient, one of the surgeons of Peninsula Plastic Surgery will choose one of the following procedures to create a breast that appears and feels as natural as possible: Saline implant reconstruction, Silicone gel implant reconstruction, Lat Dorsi reconstruction with an implant, or TRAM flap reconstruction. Male Breast Reduction
