Syringe Liposuction Salisbury, Maryland
Syringe liposuction is gentle. It is most useful when the primary goal is to artistically sculpt rather than remove large volumes of fat. An otherwise thin female, with out-of-proportion bulges of fat on her lateral thighs (saddlebags), is the perfect candidate for syringe liposuction, for only 100ml to 200ml of fat needs to be removed from each lateral thigh. From the very beginning of the case, the plastic surgeon must be focused on not removing too much fat more than on removing as much as possible. An aggressive form of liposuction, such as Power Assisted Liposuction, is likely to remove fat too rapidly and result in contour irregularities.
During syringe liposuction, a specialized syringe, rather than a machine, produces the vacuum that pulls the fat through the cannula. We oftentimes utilize syringe liposuction on the lateral thighs, medial thighs, the neck and, with the smallest of our cannulas, on the face (micro-liposuction). Also, syringe liposuction is an effective method of harvesting fat for injection, by which we augment or enlarge body parts, including cheeks, chins, and breasts. We also use fat injections to correct contour irregularities, which resulted from reconstructive surgery or imperfect cosmetic surgery.
