THE PROCEDURE:
We usually perform the operation with local anesthesia and sedation or general anesthesia. Some patients require only local anesthesia.
We perform the greater majority of our mini face lifts in the certified operating room located inside our Salisbury office complex so that our patients can experience absolute privacy and convenience.
In most cases, we place incisions under the side burns and along the natural contours of the front of the ear. In some case and depending on the patient's individual goals, we extend the incisions up the temples and around the back of the ears.
We elevate the skin so that we can trim and redrape it.
We tighten up the deep layers, including muscle and fascia. We believe the cutting-edge techniques we use in this portion of the procedure provide much longer lasting results than those achieved by a LifeStyle Lift.
When closing the wounds, we utilize very specialize techniques and utmost precision, both of which greatly minimize visible scarring.
Next, we apply a soft, bulky dressing
POST-OP RECOVERY:
Most patients go home the day of surgery, with the head and neck wrapped in bulky dressings or a thin, elastic garment. Bulky dressings are usually removed within a couple of days.Initial discomfort is easily controlled with oral medication.
We removed visible sutures in 3-7 days and hidden ones in 3-10 days.
Bruising and swelling decrease to "socially acceptable" levels in 10-20 days.
The final result is evident in approximately 4-6 weeks or sooner with continued improvement for several months.
OTHER POSSIBILITIES:
If you have jowls that are extensive or a large amount of excess skin that hangs on your neck, a full face lift probably is more appropriate for you. Additional procedures that might enhance the result are: eyelid lift, brow lift, chemical peel, dermabrasion, chin enlargement, nose reshaping, fat suction, laser skin resurfacing, cheekbone enhancement, augmentation/enhancement of lips, reduction of earlobes.BEFORE AND AFTER PICTURES
